He went on to tell me the drive cycle had been completed and I could take it for inspection tomorrow. The manager said everything should be alright once I fill up the tank to between 1/4 and 3/4, but ideally when I go for inspection it should be at around 1/2. SO I went and picked up the car tonight from the dealership. Please advise if we may be of any further assistance. (They actually scanned in a screenshot of the Emission Performance Warranty highlighting that the PCM and cat will be covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles here). In their opinion, this should be covered under Jeep’s ‘Emissions Performance Warranty’ which reads: Your vehicle’s PCM needs to be updated with the calibration version with the id of 680908870AJ.Įach time one of these 2012 Wranglers have failed inspection for the fuel system readiness monitor reporting a not-ready status it has been fixed with this update. We reached out to the DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) on your behalf, and they advised us of the following. Thank you for using the New Jersey Inspection Website. I'll just copy and paste this right here: So today I received an email from the DMV about this issue. Please stay in touch here I will be watching this thread. AND the car needs to pass inspection by 2/28. However they're already closed for the day and I'm waiting to hear back from my service guy. So NOW I have to call the dealership again, see what they say, and then I have another number 1-888-NJMOTOR that apparently knows more about this issue than the inspection station OR the dealership. They were totally clueless though and they said I was the first one they had to fail twice. Apparently there's a list somewhere of a bunch of cars and the problems they experience when going through inspection and the 2012 Wrangler was just added to this list. The guys at the inspection station told me they just received a memo literally this week about the 2012 Wranglers and a problem with the fuel system monitor. Well, I brought it in today, AND IT FAILED AGAIN FOR THE SAME THING. The service advisor told me to drive it 100 miles and make sure the gas tank was between 1/4 and 3/4 full before going again. I took it to the dealership where they did a reflash, fixed a whole bunch of recalls and TSB's, and did a complete fuel system cleanout. Mine failed for the same exact thing at the end of January. I've been going through this nightmare for the PAST MONTH. I'm F80Paul on the BM3 tune, which retains CEL / O2 readiness at the request of me to F80Paul Team.I'm so glad this post popped up today. So I'm very surprised about your report: "I did not turn off cat monitoring, this gives me O2 readiness and doesn't fail the cat/dp" What this tells me is that if you are stage2 or above, (whether your have cat turned on or off), cat/O2 will always be "NOT READY" because it's not even given a chance. Stage 2 turns off the monitor for catalytic converters due to the CEL that happens when downpipes are changed and will register a NOT READY status for the O2 and catalytic tests which depending on your emissions may or may not allow you to pass emissions testing." Stage 1 leaves the catalytic monitors in place as well. As far as tuning with bootmod3, you have the option to program the stock tune back on the car at any time. In fact in Ontario here as of 2019 emissions testing doesn't exist any longer. We are a Canadian company and we're unfamiliar with emissions laws in your area. "Emissions laws differ from country to country and from one state to another. Would need someone with a TU pump to chime in, AFAIK, the car thinks the fuel pump is stock. Has TU pump been confirmed to not set the fuel system ready? Dorch and Spool require specific software to run properly. I believe it's because I have the Dorch, but it's totally annoying that we don't have a fix in place to get fuel system into readiness mode, when all we do is upgrade the pump, especially for those who have an OEM TU pump! That means I have no idea how someone runs upgraded fuel pump and catless at the same time, if they have to comply to these emissions. My failed system is actually the "fuel system", it will never get into readiness mode. I'm allowed one failed system on our tests here. I did not turn off cat monitoring, this gives me O2 readiness and doesn't fail the cat/dp. I'm on BM3, custom tune, Dorch Stage 2, E60 fueling, AA catted downpipe and JB4 for meth. Oh, welcome to the world of this being so damn frustrating.
